Black Friday is November 27. Cyber Monday is November 30. Today is November 3, so you have 24 days, and a launch that feels calm on the day is usually one that was boring to prepare. Here is a plan that works backward from those dates.

I will not quote conversion rates or sales figures, because they differ by shop, niche and list, and numbers without a source are not worth planning around. Track your own views, favorites, email clicks and orders, and treat this year as your baseline.

1

Decide the offer first

Before you make anything, answer three questions:

  1. 1What is the headline offer? One bundle, one collection or a sitewide discount.
  2. 2What is my lowest acceptable price? Work it out per item after platform fees and any print costs. A discount below that is a loss, not a promotion.
  3. 3What is the freebie? One small free pattern pack for people who join your list.

Bundles protect your per-pattern price, which is why they are usually better than slashing everything. Two simple tiers are enough: a small pack of three coordinating patterns, and a full collection of eight to twelve.

2

The calendar

DatesWhat to do
Nov 3 to 8Choose the offer. Finish any new patterns. Decide the freebie.
Nov 9 to 15Build the bundles. Make mockups. Draft listings and emails.
Nov 16 to 20Publish the free pattern pack and the signup form. Start teasers.
Nov 21 to 26Send "early access" to your list. Schedule social posts and pins. Triple-check links.
Nov 27Launch. Send the main email. Post.
Nov 28 to 29Weekend reminder. Answer questions fast.
Nov 30Cyber Monday: last-chance email. Close the offer on schedule.
Dec 1 and afterThank-you email. Move to holiday gift messaging.

If you are late on any step, cut it, not the launch. A simple offer sent on time beats a perfect one sent a week later.

3

The free pack, done right

A lead magnet should be small, useful and clearly licensed.

  • Offer one pattern or three that match your best-selling style.
  • Put the license in plain language: personal use, or commercial use, and what is not allowed. The commercial licensing guide for AI patterns is worth reading before you word it.
  • Show it on a mockup, because people sign up for what they can imagine using.
  • Make the next step obvious, with a link to your shop in the delivery email.

Your freebie competes with plenty of other free patterns, so pick the style your shop is best known for.

4

Email timing

You do not need a long sequence. Three emails will do:

  1. 1Teaser about a week before: what is coming, and when.
  2. 2Launch on the morning of the 27th: the offer, the end date and one clear button.
  3. 3Last chance on the 30th: a short reminder with the deadline.

I can't tell you the best send time. Test on your own list by sending the second email at a slightly different hour than the first and comparing opens. Keep subject lines literal ("Pattern bundles, 27 to 30 November") and avoid shouting.

5

What to put on sale

  • Christmas collections. Digital files can still sell for the season. For physical items, you must check each platform's own shipping cutoffs, and the last-minute Christmas print-on-demand tips post explains how.
  • Evergreen bundles. Florals, geometrics or a niche set that sells all year. These keep working after the holidays.
  • Niche packs. Teachers, pet owners and bakers, as covered in the Christmas pattern niches post.

If your shop is on Etsy, how to sell digital patterns on Etsy covers listing basics, so you are not learning them in launch week.

6

Where to announce it

Your email list comes first, since those people asked to hear from you. Next come your shop's own page and social profiles. If you use Pinterest, schedule your pins ahead of time; the Pinterest pattern marketing guide covers how to set that up.

7

Final checklist

  • Offer and end date written down
  • Lowest price confirmed
  • Bundles and listings built, with links tested
  • Free pack and signup form live
  • Three emails drafted and scheduled
  • Mockups for every listing
  • A plan for questions on the weekend

Frequently asked questions

When are Black Friday and Cyber Monday in 2026?

Black Friday is November 27, 2026, the day after U.S. Thanksgiving on November 26, and Cyber Monday is November 30.

Should I discount individual patterns or sell bundles?

Bundles are the safer route, because they raise the order value without lowering the price of each pattern. Work out your lowest acceptable price after platform fees and costs before you pick any discount.

What is a lead magnet for a pattern shop?

A free pattern or small pack you give in exchange for an email address. State the license clearly, for example personal use only, so people know what they can and cannot do with it.
